What happens in this chapter

Drink the Soma the falcon brought

Kusidi Kanva calls Indra, slayer of Vritra, to run here from far and near to the offering of honeyed Soma. The pressings are sharp and gladdening; drink boldly, as is your way. The Soma has been pressed with stones and blended with milk for your delight. Hear my call and take your fill of the Soma mixed with milk. Three closing verses share a refrain, drink of it, you are its lord: the Soma in the cups and bowls, the Soma seen in the bowls like the moon in the waters, the Soma the falcon carried in his claws across the regions, unhindered.
