Come near, Vayu, drinker of the pure, says Maharshi Vasishtha; a thousand are your teams. To you belongs the first drink of the cheering soma. The quick presser has stood up to give soma to Indra and Vayu, while the god-seeking adhvaryus bring them the first of the honey. Verses two and four join Indra with Vayu. He asks Vayu to come with his teams to the giver's house and give wealth, heroes, cows and horses, and prays that, with the patrons, we overcome our enemies in battle.
