What happens in this chapter Crossing over by the path of Rta At sunrise Maharshi Vasishtha calls Mitra and Varuna of pure skill, whose lordship is unfading and highest. Among the Devas they are the mighty lords, asura in the old sense of the word, and the noble ones. Many are their snares, bridges of the law that the false mortal cannot cross; by the path of Rta, he prays, may we cross over all troubles as over water by a boat. He asks them to wet the pastures with ghee and to fill the people with heavenly water.
