Vamadeva Gautama praises Savitar in jagati with a closing trishtubh. God Savitar has appeared, to be praised by men at this hour of the day, who apportions treasures to the children of Manu. You first give immortality to the holy gods as their highest share, then open out life after life for men. Whatever we have done against the divine folk in thoughtlessness, through weakness or human pride, make us sinless here among gods and men. Savitar's ordinance, by which he upholds the whole world, cannot be broken. The last verse prays that Indra, heaven and earth, the rivers and Aditi with the Adityas grant us shelter.
