Indra drinks at the Trikadruka rites
Four long verses in the rare ashti and atishakvari metres, by Gritsamada. At the Trikadruka rites mighty Indra drank as he pleased the barley-mixed Soma pressed with Vishnu, and it roused him to great deeds. Each verse ends with the refrain that the true drop reached the true god Indra. Blazing with strength he overcame Krivi in battle and filled heaven and earth with his greatness. Born together with wisdom and might, he grows with his valour and gives the singer desired wealth. The last verse praises his first heroic deed in heaven, when he set the waters flowing and found food and strength.
