3 verses · 186 of 191
Ula Vatayana prays to Vata, the wind, in gayatri. May Vata blow medicine to us, healing and joy for our hearts; may he lengthen our lives. Vata, you are our father, our brother and our friend; make us live. The treasure of amrita is set in your house yonder, Vata; give us from it, that we may live. In three verses the wind becomes kin and healer, and the breath of life is asked for as a gift from the store of the immortal.
