Tvashtar Garbhakarta, or Vishnu Prajapatya, speaks in anushtubh to the devas of birth. May Vishnu shape the womb, Tvashtar fashion the forms, Prajapati pour, and Dhatar place the germ in you. Place the germ, Sinivali; place the germ, Sarasvati; may the two divine Ashvins, wreathed with lotus, set the germ in you. The germ that the Ashvins churn out with golden fire-sticks, we call for you, to be born in the tenth month. The three verses are spoken at the garbhadhana rite, asking every power of birth to guard the child from conception to birth.
