The one-verse Durga sukta to Jatavedas

Jātavedase sunavāma somam: for Jatavedas let us press soma. This sukta is a single trishtubh verse. Agni Jatavedas will burn up the wealth of the hostile, and carry us past all difficulties, durgāṇi, as a boat across the river. It opens the Durga Sukta of the Mahanarayana Upanishad and is recited for safe passage through danger. Tradition names Kashyapa Marica as its rishi.
