What happens in this chapter

Indra, hearer of the poet's cry

In trishtubh Agastya Maitravaruni reminds Indra of the willing ear by which he helped singers before, and asks him not to crush his longing. No one can harm Indra the king. With his men he is the winner in battle and the hearer of the poet in need; he brings his chariot near the giver and lifts up the songs. With you, Maghavan, may we overcome enemies who think themselves great; be our protector and our growth.
