What happens in this chapter

Soma, enter Indra for our good

Agastya Maitravaruni speaks to Soma in anushtubh, closing in trishtubh, asking it to enter Indra and gladden him for our welfare. Let the songs settle in Indra, lord of the five peoples, who holds all wealth in his hands. The rishi asks Indra to strike like heaven's thunderbolt whoever plots against us, and to slay the one who presses no Soma and gives no joy, handing his goods to us. Soma once helped Indra in battle; now the singer calls on him as water is called by the thirsty.
