What happens in this chapter Dirghatamas saved from the waters Here Dirghatamas speaks of his own trials to the Ashvins, in trishtubh with a closing anushtubh. He recalls how they set the winged Pajra ship for Tugra's son in mid-ocean, and asks that his praise guard him, son of Uchathya. He prays that the two birds not drain him and the tenfold-piled wood not burn him. The rivers did not swallow him when the dasas cast him in bound; when Traitana tried to split his head, the blow fell on his own chest and shoulders. Old in the tenth yuga, the rishi becomes the brahma, charioteer of the waters flowing to their goal.
