Five verses in which Vyasa continues. One who takes up faith, renunciation, contentment, truth and dharma, gives up desire and hatred and is even-minded toward all, is purified by faith and fit for every sacrifice. Those who sacrifice with lawful wealth, every act by the shastra, worship the one dharma. Restrained brahmanas who constantly repeat the name of one or two syllables walk the sure path of the good. Even sinners gripped by anger and passion become pure when, as devotees of Shri Krishna, they chant his name. Vyasa adds that the Veda was once one, four-footed with Brahman as its head, and in the Treta age it came to be spoken quarter by quarter.
