About this bhajan

Shri Vallabhacharya, founder of the Pushti Marg, gave the Vaishnava world this little song in which one word, madhuram, sweet, falls more than eighty times. "Madhuradhipati" is the Lord of sweetness, and every line names one more thing about Shri Krishna, his lips, his flute, the dust of his feet, the ripples of the Yamuna, until nothing is left out. Children learn it before they learn its meaning. Readings differ a little: many singers give the seventh verse as "yuktam madhuram muktam madhuram" where this text, following Wikisource, has "Radha madhura milanam madhuram", and the fifth verse is often sung with "smaranam" for "ramanam".
