हरि नांव लेत मिटै सब पीरा॥

About this bhajan

One of Namdev’s Hindi padas, preserved in the north Indian collections of his songs. It is a nama-sankirtan in its simplest form: one phrase, “Hari nanv”, repeated at the head of every half-line, so the singer is chanting the Name even while describing it. The line “Hari nanv jati Hari nanv panti” is Namdev’s answer to those who judged him by birth.
