The morning call to Bhaga
This is the Pratah sukta, the dawn prayer still recited at daybreak. Vasishtha calls at morning on Agni, Indra, Mitra-Varuna, the Ashvins, Bhaga, Pushan, Brahmanaspati, Soma and Rudra. Then he turns wholly to Bhaga, the son of Aditi who apportions: the weak man and the strong, even the king, say 'give me a share'. 'Bhaga, leader, Bhaga of true bounty, lift this prayer and give to us; make us rich in cattle, horses and men.' He asks to be fortunate now, at midday and at sunset. 'Let Bhaga himself be our good fortune, O gods.' The dawns are asked to bow to the rite and bring horses, cattle and heroes.
