What happens in this chapter

Come from near and far, Indra

Nine gayatri verses of Vishvamitra to Indra at the Soma pressing. The singers call Indra, the bull, to drink the honeyed juice. Much-praised lord of the clans, he is asked to delight in the Soma that knows his will, to drink and grow strong, and to further the rite with all the devas. The bright drops go to his dwelling; he is to hold the choice Soma in his belly. The glory they have is given by him. Unfailing splendours cling to Indra; drinking Soma, he grows. Slayer of Vritra, he is asked to come from near and from far and accept these songs.
