Indra shakes his golden beard
Vimada Aindra, or Prajapatya, or Vasukra, offers this mostly jagati hymn to Indra. We worship Indra with the vajra in his right hand, driver of the bay horses. He shakes his beard and rises, scattering foes with his armies and giving gifts. Maghavan, slayer of Vritra, is lord of strength like the Ribhus. When he mounts the golden chariot drawn by his bays, he is lord of far-famed plenty. Soma moves him as wind stirs the forest. The Vimadas have made a new song for the generous one. The last verse asks that the friendship of Indra and the rishi Vimada never be broken.
