What happens in this chapter

Rudra the healer, and Soma

What shall we sing to Rudra, the wise, the most bountiful, the mighty, that will be dearest to his heart? Kanva Ghaura asks, in gayatri, that Aditi grant Rudra's blessing to our animals, our people, our cows and our children. Rudra is lord of songs and of yajnas, holder of jalasha, the healing remedy, and from him we seek well-being. He shines like the bright sun, like gold, best and kindest of the gods. Let him bring health to horse, ram and ewe, to men, women and cows. The last three verses turn to Soma, asking for glory, fame and protection from those who would hinder.
